Life In Royal Palm

Royal Palm is 3.3km from the entrance to Gorgona on the Panamerican Highway, the drive will take you about 7-10 mins. Though if it is school drop-off or pick-up time at PCIS (Panama Coast International School), traffic can be backed up.

 

There are a large number of expats living in Royal Palm so you will find a large English-speaking community there. Royal Palm is also close to other residential developments such as Ocean Waves and PH Biltmore.

 

As an Airbnb-friendly building, there are a number of apartments that will be filled with short-term tourists. Plus, with its proximity to Coronado and Panama City, Royal Palm is sure to be in high demand for renters from around the world. 

 

Royal Palm is a popular building and so the social areas are busy pretty much all year round, especially at weekends. But the building has a lively, social feel and plenty of events going on.

All about Nueva Gorgona

Nueva Gorgona is popular with families due to having its own international school: Panama Coast International School (www.panamacoastinternationalschool.com). There is also a sports field for basketball, baseball and pickleball. 

 

Gorgona is a mixed bag when it comes to properties as you have the brand new condo buildings on the oceanfront mixed in with luxury beach houses and regular Panamanian houses. 

 

Gorgona has two beaches, Playa Malibu and Playa Gorgona. The sand here is a mixture of white sand and black volcanic sand. When the tide is far enough out it is possible to walk all the way across the beaches and even to Coronado, but it’s a long walk and not for the faint-hearted! The road to Playa Malibu is not paved so can be a slow and bumpy drive but it’s worth it to visit Bikini Beach Club, a new and exclusive addition to the beachfront offerings.

 

There are several restaurants in Gorgona itself, a number of small convenience stores, and a hardware store. Gorgona is just 5 minutes from Coronado, Panama’s “beach-city capital” which includes movie theaters, shopping, a hospital, several private and public schools, as well as hundreds of dining options. And of course, you are less than an hour from Panama City, making it an easy trip to the city and great potential as a second residence!
